How a website works
When a customer visits http://www.idiaustralia.com.au they are visiting our domain name. This in turn points to our hosting, which is where our actual website is located.

Terminology
Website: This is the physical website that is designed for your company
(ie. index.html & images)
Hosting: This is the physical location of the website
(ie. ftp://idiaustralia.com.au/public_html/)
Domain Name: This is the URL used by customers to visit your website
(ie. www.idiaustralia.com.au)

How email forwarding works
There are other reasons for purchasing a domain name, and one of those is email forwarding. Some businesses are not ready or just do not want a website, but why let this limit your business. Email forwarding is an invisible service that allows us to redirect emails from yourname@yourbusiness.com.au to your current email address (ie. yourname@iinet.net.au). Instead of advertising your ISP's business at the end of your email, why not advertise your own? At the same time you are adding that professional touch to your business.

Where do we start
The starting point is your domain name. Think of it like registering a business name, only world wide. Once you have chosen a domain name you then need to select a hosting package that suits you. This is where your website will be located. The final stages are setting up your website. You could already have a website and just require it put on your hosting, or you may need IDI Australia to design it.
